CHERRY BLOSSOM + SAKURA SEASON | SCARBOROUGH | TORONTO

Cherry blossom season is upon us once again and for a short time each year we are treated to a beautiful display of the Japanese Sakura in Toronto! Many will head off to High Park but completely miss the beautiful cherry blossom trees in their own back yard in Scarborough! 1) UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO – SCARBOROUGH CAMPUS – 1265 Military Trail “The cherry blossoms in Sakura Grove located between H-Wing and the Social Sciences building are beginning to bloom, signalling the symbolic arrival of spring.” – U of T Scarborough Website Here’s an update as of May 11th, 2019: The blossoms at the U of T Scarborough Campus are blooming and should be fully open within the next couple of days. 2) BIRKDALE RAVINE – 1100 Brimley Rd. Another pleasant surprise was Birkdale Ravine, both serene and peaceful. After a bit of searching we found where the cherry blossom trees were located (don’t give up if you can’t find them at first). Although these Sakura are a bit younger and were only partially bloomed, they were still beautiful and this location will only get more impressive in the coming seasons. Be sure to bring your mother and your camera for Mother’s Day Happy Mother’s Day! – L &...

KAITLYN AND GEORGE’S HIGHLIGHT REEL | MCMICHAEL GALLERY

There is truly nothing quite like an outdoor wedding. Especially when the backdrop is at the scenic McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg, Ontario! The weather was beautiful and set the tone for George & Kaitlyn to tie the knot. With signs laying the way down the aisle that said words like ‘hope’, ‘patience’ and ‘love’ you could see that the Bride and Groom were well on their way to knowing the ingredients to a successful and happy marriage. George and Kaitlyn exchanged their heartfelt written vows which were truly meaningful beyond words and you could truly see how genuine their love was for each other. With the exchanging of vows, rings and a single kiss, they were now Husband and Wife! After family photos on the McMichael grounds, the couple made their way off to the Babushka Club for the evening reception. With a wonderful atmosphere and staff, the night was filled with touching speeches by family and friends and wonderful performances by the dancers and musicians for the rest of the evening. We wish a prosperous future for a truly happy couple! All the best to Kaitlyn & George! – L &...

CATHERINE AND JASON’S HIGHLIGHT REEL | EMBASSY GRAND | BRAMPTON

We recently were given the honour of capturing the wedding of Catherine & Jason and it just so happens we also did videography for her sister’s wedding (Antoniette & Daniel) in 2014! After a relaxing early morning prep for both Bride and Groom, they were on their way to St. Francis Xavier Church to tie the knot! Catherine looked stunning and the look on Jason’s face was priceless when he saw her for the very first time in her beautiful wedding dress! Once officially married, the couple was whisked away to the Adamson Estate with their wedding party to take their first photos together as husband and wife. Their reception at the Embassy Grand Convention Centre was filled with love, laughter and tons of dancing all shared with Catherine and Jason’s closest family and friends. It was wonderful to see a couple so well supported by those that love them most. We wish them all the best in their future together! – L &...

Top 5 Tips For Hiring A Wedding Videographer In Toronto

Top 5 Tips When Hiring A Wedding Videographer Most newly engaged couples planning their wedding ask themselves, “What should we look for in a Wedding Videographer?” That’s a good question! When it comes to deciding on wedding videography or selecting a wedding videographer, there are quite a few things to consider. Most couples aren’t even aware what they should look for to capture their big day and so we’ve gathered up our top tips to help you make your decision. 1. Pros Know Their Audio Many companies will shoot your wedding and return a highlight reel of all the best moments from the big day…but wait…where’s the audio? Make sure you hear clean audio sources for your Wedding Ceremony and Reception by asking your ‘wedding videographer-to-be’ if they use equipment such as wireless mics and digital recorders to capture every word of those vows and speeches! 2. Do You Like What You See? Does your videographer know how to tell a good story in a visually organic way? Do they use complimentary music to match the moment? Do they use complimentary effects and soundbites that make you watch and listen in an engaged way? Be sure to watch multiple samples, both short highlight reels and longer feature wedding videos of any company’s work and see that it has the look and feel you are looking for before saying “I do!”. 3. Calling For Backup Any professional should always have a comparable backup for all the important gear they need on your day. Ask your potential wedding videographer if they have backup cameras, tripods, audio equipment, etc.. Having this covered...
